Life is Full of Regrets

// August 9th, 2009 // 3 Comments » // Life, Random

youngwomanWith high school being over I have very few regrets. There are a few occasions where I wish I would have been sober or where I didn’t do anything stupid because…people don’t forget that kind of stuff. I always get mentioned about this one time when I was drunk and some people know me because of that one event.  Mistakes are sometimes the best memories. People tend to remember the times you fucked up, not the times when you shined.

I regret  when I let a girl drive my car and she crashed into two mailboxes and ripping out the lawn in her path.  I let her drive, she floors it, she mysteriously squeezes between two oak trees and we suddenly stop.  I couldn’t get the keys out of the ignition, the keys were stuck.  I regret giving her the keys. The keys were stuck like a glazed donut in a fat kids mouth. Theres was no comming out. :)  The cops came, we had egg cartons and they assumed we were egging houses. In the end, I took the blame for this dumb bitches actions and got wreckless driving and was on probation and I’m all good now. But seriously, don’t let anybody drive you’re car unless drove with them before or unless you’re drunk. Whatever, those days are in the past and theres nothing I can do but learn from the mistakes. I think twice who I let my drive my car now.  Just think that everything happens for a reason, each decision, each action is a learning process. It’s up to you to decide from right and wrong, but sometimes you don’t know which choice to take,  just follow your gut and go with it. You can regret it later, but you would know that at the time, you knew it just felt right.  The key to life is to have friends who care about you.  Friends that are on your side. Friends that side with you and back you up with whatever crazy decision you make.  Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.

I found this the other day…how retarded can somebody be to post something so personal on such a public website?!   This is what I’m talking about. I bet she regret doing that!  I haven’t done anything that stupid…yet. With my personality it’s inevitable, but luckily I got friends that would back me up in case,  just in case, my brain died on me like that poor girl.

Life can be misleading. Bullshit. Religion?

Think back to the last time you said “Bullshit.”  Every so often I see situations where I think, ‘wow, is he/she serious?’ Did someonebody just fall for that?  How retarded can somebody be?  It makes you realize how over educated you can be when some body falls for something stupid such as a magic act or those telemarketers that tell you to donate to the ‘police fund’ to get a ’sticker’ that will get you of tickets. Pffft.  The police are funded by the government.  If the government needed more money they would just raise our taxes. scam Or what about ‘investment opportunities.’ I see so many scams that I feel sorry for whoever is dumb enough to fall for them. The lottery is a business, they do not want you to win. You have a far better chance of getting hit by lightning than winning the lottery. Take your money elsewhere. I was walking around a shopping center one day when I saw this and literally laughed out loud. I can just picture a bunch of little kids begging their parents for .50cents.

I am Catholic. I am open-minded. And I like debates. So this is why I have to present the biggest bullshit of all time: Religion. Sorry if this may offend some of you.  To start off, Acceptance of a supernatural claim tends to promote cooperative social relationships between families, between paretns and children.  By encouraging this kind of behavior where the most intense social relationships occur in churches, temples, etc, it facilitates the lack of skepticism and deters more open minded thinking. Why would a God want people dying of poverty, war, genocide, holocaust, rape, global warming, final exams (joke :P ),  murder, the list goes on and on. Pretend you lived on an island, completely isolated from all other resourceful obstacles such as libraries. It’s easier to accept another individuals explanation than to invest time and effort in finding out yourself.

Your friend, your family, your caregiver tells you what to believe in and you are punished if you disobey. Psychology shows the effectiveness of negative reinforcers and punishments. We want to belong and by not accompanying we dispose our precious need to belong. Therefore when we do what we are taught, the teachings of religion, we feel like we belong, we get rewarded by our parents and we are blind folded by the other possibiltiies life has to offer.

scam

Almost all of the Catholics, Christians, Muslims, Hindus are all who the are because they have been indoctrinated by their parents as very young children. Very few convert faiths or go from being atheist to following a religion. Of course they are those who lack a sense of belonging so the easiest way to comfort themselves is to practice a religion that feeds their agony, an invisible presence that loves and will take care of them even after they die. Most of these gullible people will go on to indoctrinate their own children and those will go on to teach their grandchildren and so on. It’s a never ending circle, until a person challenges the cults or religion’s ideas and decides whether or not to pass his or her knowledge to the younger generation.  The bottom line: Atheists have the intellect and the open mind to see through the conditioning and escape into who they truly want to be.
